The social media affect INTRODUCTION Is social media bringing us closer together or driving us further apart? I decided to attack the topic by going the route of empathy and if it brings people together or separates them Keywords I used were social media, empathy, Facebook, and affirmative empathy. I plugged this keyword into google and on EBSCOhost and ProQuest and yahoo search. Which at first the articles were horrible and made no sense which led me to topics like politics and body image which are not bad topics but I felt like I was getting into something with a dead end or just something very deep that I had no interest in but after searching it resulted in me finding articles about memes, hashtags, Facebook and experiments that there main topics that were discussed was about empathy which really interested me because I didn t know what the word empathy and when I researched it and found it means The meaning of empathy is the feeling that you understand and share another person s experiences and emotions: the a bility to share someone else s feelings .
